New Month
Happy July! It’s a new month, which marks the half-way point of the year. It’s winter, it feels like time goes by faster in winter. It’s also FREEZING ALL THE TIME. I have three layers of clothing on and can still feel the cold. I hoped that a new month would bring some optimism, but it just served as a reminder to kick things into high gear.
Working on Concept Art
I’ve been working on assignments for the majority of my time. There is no time to work on my projects. I spend whatever extra time I have on concept art for those ideas. They are not very good or detailed, however it’s just there to add some flavour to the wall of text in the project description. Also, I have a brand new drawing tablet in storage, yet I use my mouse to draw. I feel like it’s a combination of laziness and reluctance to take care of yet another thing on my already-cluttered desk.
I am by no means an artist, I hope I can improve my drawing skills. I also have no idea how to do sound, but that’s a hurdle I’ll tackle after school.
Creative vs. Structure
With my focus 100% on studies, I fear losing creativity. This was just a thought that brushed my mind. I think striking a good balance between structured work and a creative outlet is good. You shouldn’t neglect one for the other. Casually drawing concept art is a good way of maintaining balance. Something about stimulating one side of the brain while forgetting about the other side. Use it or lose it!
